Danny C. Dubuque, 57, of Plattsburgh, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative & Hospice Care due to complications after beating cancer. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on April 13, 1962 the son of Harold Sr. and Ellen (Coolidge) Dubuque.
Danny worked for South Catherine Small Car for 32 years. He was an avid race car driver at Airborne Speedway for many years. When he was not racing at Airborne, he founded Lake City R/C Speedway, competing in R/C races, I-Racing or he could be found restoring his old cars, currently his 1963 Volvo and 1959 Edsel. He enjoyed going to drive-in movies, attending car shows, going out to eat and listening to Elvis. He was an avid football fan, especially cheering on the New Orleans Saints. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, going on car rides and traveling on day trips. He will be missed for his giving nature, helping anyone and any feline-friend in need or for his gift of making people laugh.
He is survived by his wife Denise (Giddings), his siblings; Cathy Desotell, Jay Dubuque, Richard Dubuque, Harold “Skip” Dubuque Jr., Gary Spring, and Joan Spring, and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, and his brother Kenneth Vernon Spring.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow with procession to Airborne Speedway for a final lap.
