Mr. David D. Foy, Sr., 56, of the Trudo Road in Altona, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born in Burlington, Vermont on March 25, 1953, the son of Raymond and Margaret (Fitzpatrick) Foy, Sr. David was a loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather. He had so many passions and talents in life. He was a great cook, artist and craftsman. He also had a great sense of pride and confidence in himself. He was always there to lend a hand, ear or suggestion. He had a wonderful sense of humor and gave good hugs! David also shared his wife's interests in camping, cookouts, yard saleing, shopping, and hosting family gatherings. His outstanding two-step, unique ideas for party themes and costumes, always made everyone want to be near him. David was a family patriarch and had great compassion for those in need. He was a wonderful man and will be missed dearly. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Linda (DeCell) Foy of Altona, his children and spouses; David D. and Beth Foy, Jr. of Johnson, Vt., Laura and Roger Brileya of Benson, Vt., Kim and Robert Woitkowski of St. Petersburg, Fl., Brian Foy and his companion Felicia Lodato of Johnson, Vt., James and Laura Ritchie of South Burlington, Vt., Rhea Foy and Josh Allen of Hardwick, Vt., Debbie Foy of Johnson, Vt., Gordon Ritchie and companion Allie Kirk of Altona, Elizabeth DeCell and companion Robert Kenyon of Plattsburgh, Alyssa Simpson and companion Corey Russell of Plattsburgh, his siblings and spouses; Raymond and Sheila Foy, Gerald and Priscilla Foy, Sheila and Chris Edwards, Theresa and Richard Waite, John and Robin Foy, Edward and Melissa Foy, Shawn Foy and companion Amy, Vera and James Burt, Cheryl and Scott Strenio, all of Vermont, 22 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. His parents, his siblings Rhea, Debbie, and Jody Foy, and Marie Kirby and a sister in law Kim DeCell Ritchie passed away earlier. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2009 from 1 to 3 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will follow at 3 pm from the Brown Funeral Home Chapel.
