David Leo Ireland, 65 of Plattsburgh passed away September 14 2023 of an Abdominal Aorta Aneurism. He was born in Rochester, NY on July 1, 1958, the son Donald and Mary Margaret (Pearl) Ireland.
David retired from Global Foundries in 2020. He purchased his home in Plattsburgh on Sunrise Drive. David lived close by his mother and was a constant presence in her home. He enjoyed working and tinkering in his yard, often greeting his neighbors as they passed by.
An avid skier since the time he could walk. He enjoyed skiing on Whiteface Mountain with friends and family. He enjoyed summers on Lake Champlain at the family home. Sailing with his father and brothers was a lifetime passion. He took pride in cooking or grilling for his family and could carve a turkey like no other.
Above all else, he was a kind, generous and loving soul. He loved his family first, closely followed by Notre Dame football.
He recently bought lake front property near his home and enjoyed spending his days clearing the lot with his brother-in-law, Matt Tolosky.
Like his dad, he saw the good in everyone. Like his mom, he had her generous heart.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Margaret (Pearl) Ireland, Tom (Barb) Ireland, Michael Ireland ,Mary Lee Ireland. Meg (Matt) Tolosky and John Ireland, nephews, Mike and Matt Ryan, Sean Ireland, Joe and Jack Tolosky, neice, Caitlin Finney
He was predeceased by his father Donald A. Ireland, his niece Margaret Mary Tolosky,
A private Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on September 18, 2023. A celebration of life will be held in July of 2024 and will be announced.
