Deborah A Stoner

Deborah “Debbie” A. (Forkey) Stoner, 60, of Altona, NY passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 27, 2022. She was born in Plattsburgh on March 28, 1962, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Julie (Monty) Forkey.

She grew up in Mooers and graduated from Northeastern Clinton Central School. For many years, she worked as the Storeroom Clerk at Altona Correctional facility.

Debbie cherished her family, especially her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She loved her dog Lassie and her two cats. She could be seen going for walks on the Monty Road with Lassie each and every day. Being outdoors, gardening, watching the birds at her birdfeeders, and visiting with her family were a few of the pastimes that she most enjoyed. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend; she truly had a heart of gold.

She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Lisa Bray, sister-in-law Jeanne Forkey, and nephews Dusty Clark and Michael Bell.

Left to cherish the memory of Debbie are her brothers and sisters; Gail and Mike Bell of Mooers, Lloyd, Jr. and Karen Forkey of Florida, Chris Forkey of Altona, Sheila Clark of Plattsburgh, Monty and Sonja Forkey of Morrisonville, and Lance Forkey of Altona. She is also remembered by 12 nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews, and numerous cousins.

There will be no calling hours per her request. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 11:30 am at Holy Angels Church in Altona. A reception to follow at the Holy Angels Church Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to Holy Angels Church in Altona or the Altona Volunteer Fire Department.
