Plattsburgh

Debra L. Plumadore, 65, of Plattsburgh, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 22nd, 1959, the daughter of Harold (Skip) LeBeau and Rosemarie (King) LeBeau. Debra married Gary S. Plumadore on November 26, 2003, and together they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.

Early in life, Debra showed remarkable strength and resilience. During her first pregnancy, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. When doctors urged her to choose between her own life and that of her unborn child, Debra made the courageous decision to fight for both. She returned to Plattsburgh, where Dr. Richard Murphy took on her case, and ultimately saved both her and her baby. That son is now 46 years old and remains a testament to her bravery. Debra later adopted a second son, and both children became the pride and joy of her life.

Following her recovery, Debra began working for Dr. Murphy, starting as a receptionist and quickly becoming his office manager. Over the years, she helped run a practice that brought more than 10,000 babies into the world. Later, she joined the Plattsburgh City School District’s Business Office, where she worked for nearly a decade before retiring.

Debra met the love of her life, Gary, through Match.com. They shared 24 wonderful years together filled with travel, laughter, and their favorite pastime — camping at Iroquois Campground. She even won two trips through the Regis and Kelly show: one to the premiere of Ratatouille, and another to Hawaii.

Of all her passions, none compared to the love she had for her grandchildren. Debra treasured every moment spent with them — especially during camping season — planning activities, sharing stories, and simply being together.

Debra is survived by her beloved husband of 21 years, Gary Plumadore; her children, R.J. LeFleur, Jordan LeFleur and his wife Kaylah, Mathew Plumadore and his wife Randi, and Jessica Wyser and her husband Matthew; her cherished grandchildren, Arianna, Shea, Adam, Callen, Rowen, and a granddaughter on the way, Isla; her mother, Rose Marie LeBeau; her siblings, Melanie Morgan and her husband John, Jeanette LeBeau, and William LeBeau; and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her father, Harold LeBeau.
