Plattsburgh Mrs. Delia A. Morgan, 90, formerly of Beekman Towers Plattsburgh, NY, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 07, 2015 at the home of her daughter Mona Jabaut in Schroon Lake, NY. She was born in Puerto Rico on June 22, 1924 the daughter of Gregorio Alayon and Manuela Valladares. Delia married John F. Morgan on November 14, 1945 in Santurce, Puerto Rico. Together they traveled as an Air Force family when John was assigned to the newly opened Plattsburgh Air Force Base. After his retirement from the Air Force they owned and operating Morgan's Store on Route 22. Although she was born in Puerto Rico, she loved the North Country. While living in Plattsburgh, Delia attended the Cadyville Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the love of her life. Delia's smile and her love of life will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband John, a son Michael, a daughter Mary Jane Ross, a grandson Tommy Garrow, her brothers, Daniel, Domingo, Gregorio and a sister Lydia Starr. Delia is survived by her daughter Mona Jabaut and her husband Stephen of Schroon Lake, NY, a son Murry "Butch" Morgan and his wife Peggy of Plattsburgh, seven grandchildren; Ronald "Buster" Garrow and his wife Amy of Potsdan, NY, Kyle Ross and his wife Danielle of San Luis Bispo, CA, Christopher Morgan of Plattsburgh, Mathew Morgan of Plattsburgh, Michael Morgan of Portland, OR, Ruth Jabaut of Schroon Lake and Cameron Jabaut of Schroon Lake, six great grandchildren; Shawna Garrow of Potsdam, NY Katie-Jane Garrow of Potsdam, Ely Ross of San Luis Bispo, CA, Meghan Morgan and her companion David Swezey of Fort Ann, NY, Nick and Richard Morgan of Glens Falls, NY, three great great grandchildren Gavin and Aiden Swezey of Fort Ann, NY, Gabriel Garrow of Potsdam, NY, a son-in-law Terry Ross and his wife Jeannie Killam of Barnard, VT, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Friday, April 10, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, NY. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Turcotte, Pastor of the Cadyville Wesleyan Church officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Riverside Cemetery, Plattsburgh. Donations in her memory may be made to the Susan B. Komen Foundation.
