Dewey F. "Buddy" Peryea, 59, of Waterford, New York, died peacefully Monday, December 21, 2009 at his home. He was born in Plattsburgh, January 19, 1950. He was the son of Dewey R. and Frances (Richards) Peryea. He attended Peru Central School and later moved to the Albany area. Dewey resided at the Center for the Disabled for the past 26 years and had great support and love from the staff. Dewey's enjoyments in life included River Rats hockey games, going to the movies, and attending country and western concerts. Dewey was predeceased by his parents, and his brother Richard S. Peryea. Dewey is survived by his sister Elizabeth Cummings and her husband John and their daughters Lexie and Abbie of Plattsburgh, his nephew Kevin Peryea, of Baltimore, MD, a long time family friend Donna Vasquez, of Plattsburgh, NY, and many loving relatives in the Lake Placid area. Elizabeth would like to extend her thanks, love, and appreciation to the various staff and his friends who have been involved with his care through the years. Dewey was well known and loved by all who came into contact with him and left his mark in many peoples hearts with his quick wit, charm, and unending smile.
