Donald M "Dud" Bullis

Mr. Donald M. "Dud" Bullis, 81, of Route 3, Plattsburgh, New York passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 from CVPH Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on December 17, 1928, the son of Bernard V. and Albina (Carter) Bullis. Dud was a graduate of St. John's Academy and was a veteran of Korea serving in Howe Co. 3rd Battalion 8th Marine Division. He retired after 30 years with the New York State Department of Corrections Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora. Dud was a founding member of Wolf Pond Mountain Club "Camp Kettle", a NYS Big Buck Club Measurer, a past member of the Ledges Hunting Club, a 25 year IAABO Basketball Official, the American Legion Post #1619 and St. Alexander's Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Dud was predeceased by his parents Bernard and Albina Bullis, a brother Conrad Bullis, his sisters; Hilda Favro and her husband Harry, Dawn Duquette and her husband Richard "Buggs". He is survived by his wife of 53 years Mary "Sis" (Conners) Bullis of Plattsburgh, two sons; Kevin Bullis of Plattsburgh, Bernard "Bernie" Bullis and his wife Julie of Beekmantown, two daughters; Catherine Nelson and her husband Robert of Oswego, NY, Jo-Ann LaGrone and her husband Rocky of Saratoga Springs, NY, his grandchildren; Travis and Kayla Nelson, Olivia and Marli LaGrone, Adam, Jeremy, Kathleen Bullis, Cassie Bullis, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 26, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alexander's Church. Interment will follow at St. Alexander's Cemetery.
