Donald F Burdo Sr

Plattsburgh Donald F. Burdo, Sr., 61 of Franklin Avenue, Plattsburgh, NY passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday December 26, 2009. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on March 20, 1948 the son of Walter and Florence (Champagne) Burdo. Donald worked for Imperial Wall Coverings in Plattsburgh for 29 years before they closed. He then went on to work at Schonbecks Worldwide Lighting in Plattsburgh as a welder. He was an avid NASCAR fan, collector and loved watching local races at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh. He was known for his jokes and enjoyed bowling. Donald also raced at Airborne in the Street Stock Class in 1978 and 1979. He was predeceased by his parents. Donald is survived by his wife of 42 years Joan (Provost) Burdo, two children; Donald Burdo, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Plattsburgh and April McKee and her husband Dan of Plattsburgh, three grandchildren; Justin McKee, Jessica McKee and Corey Burdo. He is also survived by four sisters and several nieces and nephews. Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday December 29, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday December 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Treadwells Mills. Burial will be later next year in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
