Morrisonville Donald H. Duquette, 83, of Route 22 B, Morrisonville, NY, passed away on Saturday April 8, 2017 at Meadowbrook Health Care in Plattsburgh. He was born in Rouses Point, NY on September 30, 1933 the son of Herbert and Mary (Guyette) Duquette. Donald grew up on South Catherine Street in Plattsburgh and attended Our Lady of Victory High School. He joined the United States Army in 1953 serving in the Army Corp of Engineers until being honorably discharged in 1955. Donald married Rose Chauvin on October 5, 1957 at The Church of the Assumption in Redford. Donald worked for Murnane Construction for 40 years, retiring as Superintendent in 1997. He served as President of the Clinton County Fair Board and spent 35 years working on the building and grounds crew for the fair. Donald served as a Town Councilman in the Town of Plattsburgh for 20 years and was on the Board of Directors for the Clinton County Advocacy and Resource Center. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6067 in Morrisonville, a member of the American Legion Post 20 in Plattsburgh and Plattsburgh Elks Lodge. He was also very dedicated to St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville where he served on the parish council, several committees and over saw the construction of Jubilee Hall and the new rectory in Morrisonville, as well as many maintenance projects at both the church and the school. Donald along with his father and all four brothers were members of the Carpenters Union Local 1042. Donald was predeceased by his parents, two brothers; Ralph and Kenneth Duquette and a son Paul Joseph Duquette. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Rose Duquette of Plattsburgh, two children; Eric Duquette and his wife Heidi of Morrisonville and Kristen Duquette-Siskavich and her husband Joel of Morrisonvlle, three grandchildren; Lindsay Blair and her husband Casey, Adam Duquette and Victoria Mashtare, a great grandson, Owen Casey Blair, his brothers; Gerald (Donna) Duquette of Morrisonville and Robert (Phyllis) Duquette of Plattsburgh, his brothers-in-law; Joseph Chauvin of Saranac and Charles (Phyllis) Chauvin of VA, his sisters-in-law; Marie Chauvin of Saranac and Catherine Chauvin of Saranac, several nieces and nephews also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Monday April 10, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday April 11, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville, burial will follow at St. Alexander's Cemetery with military honors. Donations in Donald's memory may be made to the Clinton County Advocacy and Resource or St. Alexander's Church.
