George, 86, formerly of Morrisonville went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 13, 2011 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He was born in Ausable Forks on November 11, 1924, the son of the late Michael and Rose (Union) George. Donald served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and later was employed for many years as a controller for the Press Republican. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council # 255 and the Plattsburgh B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge # 621. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and word searches. He also enjoyed remodeling his cottage on Chateaugay Lake and boating. He is survived by his children Donald George of Portland, Maine, Kathleen Warfel of Leola, Pa. with whom he resided, Michael George and his wife Cindy of Port Orange, Fl., eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in 2004 by his beloved wife of 52 years, Marie (Lemieux) George, a granddaughter, Jennifer George, three brothers and five sisters. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Interment will follow in St. Peter's cemetery in Plattsburgh. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to Catholic Charities. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street, Plattsburgh, N.Y. 12901 (518)561-3980.
