Donald W. “Stub” Pepper, 89, formerly of the Ratta Road, Chazy, NY passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility with his loving family by his side. He was born in Cheever, NY on June 21, 1932 the son of Adelbert and Ruth (Munch) Pepper.
Stub enjoyed bowling, golfing, gambling, going to the casino and spending time with his family and friends.
He retired as manager from Chazy and Westport Telephone Company.
While living in Westport, Stub had been Fire Chief at the Westport Volunteer Fire Department.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Arlene, a son Donald W. “Pep” Pepper, Jr., his siblings; Grace Harriman, Jane Remy, and a daughter and son-in-law Candice and Harlow Bailey.
Stub is survived by three daughters; Brenda Drummond and her husband Wayne of Westport, Nancy Munson of Florida, Kelly McCormick and her husband Patrick of Plattsburgh, a son Thomas Pepper of Chazy, his brothers; Les Pepper of Moriah, Edward “Bud Pepper and his wife Beverly of Plattsburgh, ten granddaughters, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, NY.
A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev William G. Reamer officiating.
Interment will be in the family plot at the Black River Cemetery in Elizabethtown on Wednesday December 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
