Mr. Donald O. Harris, S.F.O., 89, of Brinkerhoff Street, passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020, at Victoria House in Plattsburgh with family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Nov. 8, 1931, the Son of the late Howard Harris and Verlia (Baldwin) Harris.
Donald was a Medic in the Air Force for 21 years and worked for Dr. Victor Ludwig at Beaumont in Peru as a Physician’s Assistant for many years. He was a member of St. John's Church and the Altar-Rosary Society, the Regina Maria Retreat League, Right to Life, and the Secular Order of Franciscans. Donald enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores C. Harris, whom he married in Queens on Dec. 17, 1955;
He is survived by; two sisters Marjorie Jock, Sandy Farbotko, one brother and sister-in-law Robert and Charlotte Jock; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Donald Harris Jr. and companion Valerie Bacon of Plattsburgh, Gregory and Patti Harris of Idaho.., Keith and Katie Harris of Mass., Jonathan M. Harris of Plattsburgh; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Michael Hanley of West Chazy, Juliette and Lonnie Cleland of Plattsburgh; his grandchildren, Christopher and Lisa Perrone, Kevin and Katie Perrone, Garrett and Bora Cleland, Ashley and Dan Byler, Cassandra and Joe Rogers, Rachel and Troy Baraby, Thomas and Chelsey Hanley, Alex Harris, Pierce Harris, Benjamin Harris, Ethan Harris, and Amber Husar; his great-grandchildren, Madelyn Perrone, Braden Perrone, Ellie Rogers, Hardi Rogers, Landon Husar, Bella Perrone, Harper Baraby; and several nieces and nephews. Donald is predeceased by his parents, a son, Kevin Peter, a sister Hazel M. Crary, and a brother-in-law Thomas Farbotko,
Memorial donations may be offered to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday December 23, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. John’s Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery with military honors.
