Doris Staley Baker

Saranac Doris (Staley) Baker, 86, formerly of Staley Lane and most recently residing at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Saranac on May 26, 1922, daughter of the late Alcide and Beatrice (Delisle) Light. Doris was a member of Church of the Assumption in Redford and was an avid reader. Doris is survived by four sons, Richard A. Staley, and his companion Evelyn Garrow of Ellenburg Center, Wayne A. "Skip" Staley and his wife, Meredith of Saranac, Randal Staley and his wife, Carol of Morrisonville, Kirby Staley of Ellenburg Center, two brothers, Alcide Light of Manchester, New Hampshire, Dale Light and his wife, Helen of Port Charlotte, Florida, one sister, Bernice Doherty and her husband, Clement "Jerry" of Saranac, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Doris was pre-deceased by her husband, Fremont Baker in 1974 and a son, Earl Staley in 1967. Calling hours will be Friday, November 21, 2008 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home, 3- Park Row, Cadyville, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 11:00 AM from Church of the Assumption in Redford. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
