Dorothy "Dot" Gertsch

Plattsburgh Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Gertsch, 90, of Elizabeth St., Plattsburgh, NY passed away, Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on April 4, 1922 the oldest daughter of Russell and Florence (Barber) Fuller. Dorothy was married for over fifty years to her high school sweetheart. She enjoyed being a homemaker and being surrounded by her family. She also enjoyed reading and especially liked sitting on her porch, she called her "Florida Room." Dorothy was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Donald P. Gertsch, her sister; Joyce Burdo Light, her brothers; Andrew and Earl Fuller and a special niece Debra Primard. She is survived by two sons, Donald Gertsch of Malone and his wife Linda Gertsch of Saranac Lake, Robert Gertsch and his wife Susan of Plattsburgh, a daughter, Mary Gertsch Cochran and her husband Jeffrey of Plattsburgh, four grandchildren; Heather Armstrong, Kyle Gertsch and his wife Kendra, Bevan Gertsch-Cochran and Genevieve Gertsch-Cochran, three great grandchildren; Cierra Armstrong, Alexandria Armstrong and Adalyn Marie Gertsch, several nieces and nephews also survive her. Calling hours will be Tuesday July 10, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh, New York. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers friends wishing may make donations to the Plattsburgh Public Library.
