Dorothy Gumlaw, 75, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 26, 1943 in Elizabethtown, NY, the daughter of Peter and Mary (McCray) Gumlaw.
Dorothy worked for V Fraas in Plattsburgh for several years, before her retirement. She enjoyed playing BINGO with her family and friends. Dorothy loved to decorate for the holidays and seasons, and often spent her free time crocheting. Her greatest love was for her children and grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents, her son David P. Giddings Sr., sisters Ruth, Marie, and Lawrence.
Dorothy is survived by her children; Pennie Giddings of Keeseville, Tammie Giddings of Plattsburgh, Dorothy and her husband Jim Dillon of Fulton, NY, and Mark Giddings of Plattsburgh, her grandchildren; Billy and Michael Mantikas of New Jersey, Nathan Giddings and his girlfriend Danielle, Kori Supernaw and Victoria Sheppard and her boyfriend Robert, all of Plattsburgh, Aaron, David, and Montana Giddings all of South Carolina, great-grandchildren, Mikaela and Kyleigh and Ladainian Giddings of Plattsburgh, her siblings; Shirley Corbiere and her husband Wayne, Rose Gumlaw, Virginia Gumlaw, Helen McCadam, Betty Gumlaw, Sherry Gumlaw, George Gumlaw David Gumlaw and Jack Gumlaw and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. Funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at a later date in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
