Dorothy C. LeClair, 100, of Morrisonville, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the UVM Health Network-CVPH with her loving family by her side. She was born in Lake Placid on August 30, 1921, the daughter of the late Ernest and Eliza (Durant) Cayea.
Dorothy graduated from Lake Placid High School, the Watertown School of Nursing, and then served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in WWII; she was honored to be on the Honor Flight to Washington. She worked in many places and as an OB/GYN Nurse retiring from CVPH Hospital after 23 years in 1984. She was a member of St. Alexander’s Church.
She is survived by her children; Ronald (Linda) LeClair of West Coxsackie NY, Barbara LeClair of Morrisonville, and Janice LeClair of Beekmantown, 8 grandchildren; Sherri (Lloyd) Provost, Emily (Jared) Trombley, Stephanie (Jeff) Warren, Christina Evans, Robert Evans, Eric (Caitlin) Rock, Cory (Kristan) Rock, Lauren LeClair, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, her step-father Charles Dupraw, her husband, Carl LeClair (2011) after 65 years of marriage, her daughters Mary (1996) and Shirley (1999), sister, Marion Marvin, her brothers; Fabian, Vincent and Theodore Cayea, and Charles Dupraw Jr., 1 brother-in-law, Robert, 4 sisters-in-law, Mary, Katrina, Ruth, and Pearl, and also a nephew Charles Dupraw III.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 11:00am at St. Alexander’s Church. Entombment will follow in the Plattsburgh Community Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to North County Honor Flight or St.Alexander’s Church.
