Dorothy M. Brennan Preston, 96, of Rand Hill Road, Morrisonville, NY, passed away on Tuesday October 24, 2017 at her home with her family by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on September 20, 1921 the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Mousseau) Ayotte. Dorothy graduated from Champlain Valley Hospital School of Nursing in 1941. She married Donald Brennan on April 7, 1943 at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. Dorothy worked as a Registered Nurse at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora and later as the Nursing Administrator at Adirondack Correctional Facility, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. Dorothy enjoyed playing board games, card games, spending summers on Chazy Lake and winters in Myrtle Beach, SC. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Donald and her second husband Thomas Preston whom she married on December 28, 2003, two grandsons, Andrew Brennan and Casey Breyette and two sisters; Marion Sampson and Helen Perz. She is survived by seven children; Michael Brennan and his wife Cathy of Aiken, SC, Donald Brennan and his wife Lisa of Brick, NJ, Martin Brennan and his wife Lisa of Plattsburgh, Maribeth O'Toole and her husband Richard of Rochester, Maureen Breyette and her husband Robert of Dannemora, Donna Marie Corbishley and her husband Charles of Rochester and Merri Jeanne Brennan of Chazy Lake, 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, her sisters; Madelyn Cox of Heyward, CA, Eleanor Tart of Plattsburgh, a stepdaughter, Jill Szalkowski and her husband Guy of Morrisonville, two step grandsons, several nieces and nephews also survive her. Calling hours will be held on Sunday October 29, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday October 30, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora, burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to Catholic Daughters or Dannemora Library. Dorothy's family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her especially her granddaughter Floee Breyette, Charlotte West, Kristie Gonyea, Sarah Smith, Kristy Martin and Dr. William Pelton.
