Dorothy B Zemken

Morrisonville Mrs. Dorothy B. Zemken, 88, of Sand Road Morrisonville, NY passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Canajoharie, NY on September 17, 1924 the daughter of George H. and Hazel (Moyer) Burdwin. She attended school in Canajoharie, NY. Dorothy married Everett Henry Zemken from Root, NY on August 31, 1941 in Chesterfield, SC. She worked in a glove factory in Gloversville, NY while her husband was on active duty in WWII. Dorothy moved to Morrisonville, NY in 1957 with her husband and family. She cleaned houses there and later went into sales. Dorothy was a representative for Avon, Home Parties and Tupperware. She was top sales woman for Tupperware and received many awards from the company. Dorothy loved people and loved to visit. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Everett Zemken in 2003 and a son William Zemken in 2011. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Cheri Lynn Collins of Saranac, NY, Helene Ann Hawley and her husband David of Troy, NY, 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday,, June 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall in West Plattsburgh.
