Earl L Lafountain Sr

Mr. Earl L. Lafountain, Sr., 83, of Ormsby Drive in Schuyler Falls, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on June 19, 1926, the son of Harry and Mildred (Spooner) Lafountain. Earl retired from Clinton County Highway Department and served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed watching wrestling and NASCAR on television, tinkering on cars, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years , Mary (Ryan) Lafountain, a son and daughter in law; Earl Jr. and Nancie Lafountain of De Soto, Mo., a daughter and son in law; Darlene and Kevin O'Neil of Plattsburgh, his sisters and brother in law; Theresa and Robert Duell of Plattsburgh, Genevieve Lafountain of Saranac, a sister in law Patricia Gilman and her companion Carl Lancto of Beekmantown, his grandchildren; Mark and Christina Lafountain, David and Danielle Lafountain, Jason Lafountain, Linda Giroux-O'Neil, Justin O'Neil and Barbie Ero, his great grandchildren Dakota, Austin, and Ethan Lafountain, Alyson and Morgan Giroux, Gage and Eli O'Neil, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents and a brother, Francis Lafountain passed away earlier. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 23, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm from the Brown Funeral Home chapel. Interment will be in St. Peter's cemetery in Plattsburgh at 9:30 am Saturday.
