Edna M. Hayes Trudeau, 93, of Facteau Avenue, left this world on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at her home.
She was born in Plattsburgh on June 21, 1926, the daughter of the late Victor and Maude (Rock) Hayes.
Edna was President of the Jericho Altar Rosary Society and a member of the St. Peter’s Altar-Rosary Society. She also worked on Election Day for the Board of Elections. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, playing cards, reading, puzzles and traveling. Edna won a Gold Medal for bowling at the first Senior Citizens Games. She was also a member of the Ladies Red Hat Society.
Most of all, she enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends and cooking her famous cinnamon rolls.
She is survived by her children;, Donna Hebert and her husband, Gilles of Plattsburgh, Sid Trudeau of Chazy Lake, Pamela Boulerice and her husband, Richard "Dick" of Mooers, Maude Trudeau and her Life Partner Jerzy Pawlowski of Altona, Monica Trudeau and her Life Partner Scott Pawlowski of Altona; her siblings; Oliver Hayes of Florida, Betty Hayes od Duanesburg, step son Carl Mousseau and wife Patricia, Linda Baxter and husband Kenneth, and Richard Doe. She is also survived by her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, her great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Edna was predeceased by her husband, Donald K. Trudeau Sr.; sons Donald K. Trudeau Jr. and John P. Trudeau, daughter in law Terry Trudeau and husband Ralph Mousseau, step daughter Judy Doe, sisters; Elsie Trudo, Dorothy Hayes, and brothers James, Charles, Alfred, Victor, Malcolm, Daniel, Arthur and Roger.
Calling hours will be on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Church. Interment will be in Holy Angels Cemetery in Altona at a later date.
