Edna M. LaValley, 102, passed away on Monday May 21, 2018 at the Fort Hudson Nursing Home in Fort Edward, NY with her family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1915 the daughter of Alfred and Laura (Paris) Wells. Edna was a graduate of Plattsburgh High School in 1934 and an employee of Plattsburgh City School District and SUNY Plattsburgh for many years. In her earlier years, she was an avid bowler and charter member of the North Country Squares. Edna also traveled to Europe, Africa, Hawaii and much of the US. She was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Victory Church, a member of the Altar Rosary Society and volunteered for many years at the CVPH Medical Center at the greeting desk. Extremely proud of her family, Edna took any opportunity to follow her children and grandchildren in school and sporting events. As an animal lover, she particularly enjoyed dogs, but any animal would give her pleasure. She is predeceased by her parents, husband Ancel LaValley, sister Viola and brother-in-law Alwyn Mooney. She is survived by her children Karen Swanson and her husband Mark, Lanny LaValley and his wife May, Alan LaValley and his wife Gail, and John LaValley, 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday June 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church. Burial will follow in St. Alexander's Cemetery. Friends wishing may make donations to the SPCA in care of Brown Funeral Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York.
