Edward “Bud” Pepper, 95, of Plattsburgh, NY died 6 days shy of his 96th birthday, on Monday, May 20th 2024. Bud was born in Moriah, NY on May 26, 1928 the son of Adelebert and Ruth Pepper. Edward married Beverly Provost on May 30th, 1959. They would have celebrated 65 years of marriage this year. Bud served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked on Plattsburgh Air Force Base in the civil engineering dept. Bud also worked at North Bowl Lanes for 35 years. He was President of the New York State Bowling Association and Plattsburgh Bowling Association. Bud also was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 20 in Plattsburgh. He loved golfing, bowling, baseball, basketball. He was an avid sports fan of the north country, watching his kids and then his grandkids play in all their sports. He was one of his kids and grandkids biggest sports fan as you would see him on the sidelines of his kids and grandkids sporting events. Bud was his Grandkids biggest fan and many local referees and umpires knew him well! In his later years, he loved going to the casino and spending time with his loving family. His final wishes were to be home and Beverly took impeccable care of him and catered to his every need as always preparing his favorite meals. He was predeceased by his in-laws Lawrence and Geraldine Provost, a son, Edward L. Pepper II, his siblings, Donald "Stub" Pepper, Grace Pepper Harriman and Jane Pepper Remy. Bud is survived by his wife, a daughter Amy Pepper Holzer, a daughter-in-law Su-Ellen Pepper, his grandchildren, Mickey Pepper, Rebecca Holzer and Nick Holzer. His brother, Leslie Pepper, sister-in-law, Lucille Flynn and many nieces, nephews and special friends also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Thursday May 23, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held on Friday May, 24, 2024 11:00 am at Brown Funeral Home, burial will be at St. Mary's of the Lake Cemetery. The family would like to thank his special caregivers who loved and cared for him for the past few months, Linda, Gail, Emma, and Kimmie. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home.
