Edward H Sullivan Sr

Cadyville Edward H. Sullivan, Sr. 70, of Route 3 in Cadyville, passed away on Saturday January 17, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on September 21, 1938, the son of Edward and Vesta (Lobdell) Sullivan. Ed married his wife Jean (Farrell) Sullivan on October 25, 1958 at Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh. Ed was an avid hunter and country music lover. He spent most of his working career; working out of the area and for twenty years had worked for Baron Construction and Utilities as a Superintendent, retiring in 2006. He was a member 648 Teamsters Union and 106 Operating Engineers. He was a life long parishioner of St. James Church in Cadyville. Ed was predeceased by his father Edward A. Sullivan who passed away on June 8, 1970 and a sister-in-law Joan Provost. He is survived by his wife Jean (Farrell) Sullivan of Cadyville, NY and his mother Vesta Sullivan also of Cadyville, NY. A son Edward H. Sullivan, Jr. and his long time companion Jackie Duquette of Cadyville, NY and a granddaughter Shauna Gilligan and her husband Casey of Beekmantown, NY. Two sisters; Rita Jessie and her husband Ernest of Tupper Lake, NY and Althea Killburn and her husband Irvin of Cadyville, NY. Three sister-in-laws; Gen Wood and her husband Warren of Riverview, NY, Betty Daugherty and her husband Eddie of Plattsburgh, NY and Joyce Swinyer and her husband John of Vermontville, NY. A brother-in-law Alfred Provost of Plattsburgh. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousin. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday January 20, 2009, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Cadyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday January 21, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Church in Cadyville. Burial will be later in the year in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations is in Ed's memory maybe made to the Saranac Volunteer Rescue Squad in Saranac, NY.
