It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward J. Trombley, Sr. Ed passed away on March 5th at CVPH after a brief illness. He was born January 7, 1934, in Plattsburgh, NY to Clifford and Harriett (Breiner) Trombley. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert. Ed graduated from St. Michael’s College in 1955 and Albany Law School in 1959. He became a partner at the law firm of Fitzpatrick, Bennett, and Trombley, which over the years has become Plattsburgh’s largest law practice. Ed will be remembered for his generosity, his sense of humor, and his overall love of friends and family. His greatest joys were boating on Lake Champlain, golfing at Bluff Point, vacationing on Grand Cayman, and spending time with his family. Ed is survived by his sister, Betsy Rock of Scotia, NY, his wife Deborah, his sons, Edward (Tammy) Trombley , John(Liane) Trombley, and William (Beth) Trombley, his daughters, Beth (Casey) Flynn, Sue (Pat) Phillips, and Jay (Matt) Smith, and Mary Ann Trombley, as well as, 12 grandchildren and one great grandson. The family believes Ed would have preferred that, in lieu of sending flowers, those who wish to remember him would donate to the NY Giants, so they can “get some players to at least be competitive next year”. Just kidding. Please send donations to Bluff Point Golf Resort-Junior Golf Program, 75 Bluff Point Dr. Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
