Eli J Lambert Jr

Ellenburg Depot Eli J. Lambert, Jr., 73, of Plank Road in Ellenburg Depot, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at the UVM Health Network-CVPH with family by his side. He was born in Altona, NY on February 26, 1943, the son of the late Eli and Beatrice (Buskey) Lambert, Sr. Eli graduated from Altona High School in 1964. He worked for Monahan and Laughlin Roofing for over 10 years. In 1979 Eli began working for the New York State Department of Corrections in the Maintenance Shop. He later went on to be the Industrial Shop Supervisor at Clinton Correctional in Dannemora, retiring in 2005. Eli was a Town Councilman, Assessor and later the Town of Altona Justice for 14 years, a position he held until his passing. He was famous for his baking, especially his pies. Eli was a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Angels Church and regularly could be seen helping with Church events. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sandra (Seguin) Lambert, they were married on June 21, 1980 at Holy Angels Church, a son Matthew Lambert and his wife Sierra Zielinski of Plattsburgh, a grandson Ezra Lambert-Zielinski, his brother Rudy Lambert and his companion Fran Bordeau of Altona and several nieces, nephews and a special cousin Richard Boulrice also survive him. Eli was predeceased by his parents and a brother Gordon Lambert. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2016 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 3123 Miner farm Road in Altona. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 11:00 am at Holy Angels Church in Altona. Interment will be in Holy Angels Cemetery. Memorial donations may be offered to Holy Angels Church Fund, Ellenburg Depot Fire Dept. and Altona Fire Dept.
