Elizabeth A Duval

Plattsburgh Elizabeth A. Duval, 90, of the Vilas Home in Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Friday October 22, 2010 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Chateaugay, NY on May 27, 1920 the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Harrigan) Shea. Elizabeth graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1937, she then attended the Champlain Valley School of Nursing, graduating in 1941. Elizabeth worked for many years as a Registered Nurse at CVPH Medical Center, later she retired as a Nursing Supervisor. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Chazy, NY, a member of the Library Board in West Chazy, a member of The Champlain Valley Nurses Alumni Association and worked for 4H. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Duval and a son, Terrance Duval, a brother, Timothy Shea, two sisters; Patricia Potter and Marion Doria and a son in law Eric Westerberg Elizabeth is survived by a son, Dr. James Duval and his wife Susan of Williamsville, NY and a daughter, Donna Westerberg of Topsfield, MA, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a sister, Margaret Welch of Plattsburgh, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. Calling Hours will be held on Sunday October 24, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday October 25, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh, burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Chazy.
