Upper Chateaugay Lake, NY Elizabeth "Betty" J. Rissetto, 85, of Sunset Road, Upper Chateaugay Lake, NY, passed away on Wednesday February 22, 2017 at her home with her family by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Englewood, NJ on August 26, 1931 the daughter of Lowell and Mabelle (Dunn) Palmer. Betty was a graduate of Dumont High School, Dumont N.J, where she met and began dating her future husband, Robert A Rissetto Sr. They were married on November 29th, 1952, while completing his service in the U.S Army during the Korean War. They recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. Betty was a full-time mother and homemaker to her 4 children before returning to the workforce as an Executive Assistant for companies that included Sony and BMW. Betty enjoyed a diversity of interests and was an accomplished chocolate maker; always making sure her growing family was well stocked for every occasion. She was a proficient gardener, finding new ways to bring her produce to her family's kitchen and she had a knack for arts and crafts, frequently spending hours showing her children and grandchildren how to make things or making things for them. Betty and Bob never let a sunset pass without stopping to admire and share a glass of wine and could frequently be found tending to their garden or feeding and admiring the wide variety of wildlife always found around their lakefront home. After spending most of their adult lives raising their children in Washington Township New Jersey, they packed up their family for a summer vacation in the Adirondacks and fell in love with Chateaugay Lake. Building a home and retiring there to become full time lake residents in 1990, they continued to enjoy the north-country life, cherishing every sunrise and sunset. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert A. Rissetto Sr., 4 children, Robert Rissetto Jr., Jennifer Ryan and her husband Patrick, Paul Rissetto and his wife Rachel, Kimberly Kisling and her husband Steven. They were blessed with 7 Grandchildren, Samantha, Robert (Bobby), Melissa, Haleigh, Jessica, Matthew, and Tyler. Calling hours will held on Monday February 27, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:45 am at St. Bernard's Church in Lyon Mountain, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Noon at St. Bernard's Church.
