Ella M Recore

Ella M. Recore, 82 of Route 3, Morrisonville, NY passed away on Thursday July 30, 2009 at her home. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on October 1, 1926 the daughter of Theodore and Ella (St. Louis) Stay. Ella owned and operated Recore's Grocery in Morrisonville with her husband Herbert Recore, Sr. for many years. She enjoyed going to the casino, traveling throughout the continental United States and camping. Ella had a devotion to Sisters of the Misericordia in Montreal. Her great great great grandmother founded the Order and she especially enjoyed spending time with her large family. She was predeceased by her parents Theodore and Ella Stay, her brothers; Donald, Kenneth, Joseph, Andrew Stay; her sisters; Marjorie Reed and Marie Dandrow and a grandson Herbert Recore, III. Ella is survived by her husband of 63 years Herbert Recore, Sr., of Morrisonville, five sons; Herbert Recore, Jr. and his wife Donna of Pittsboro, NC , James Recore and his wife Shirley of Morrisonville, Donald Recore and his wife Dawn of Champlain, NY, John Recore and his wife Barbara of Plattsburgh, Andrew Recore and his longtime companion Starr Daniels of West Chazy, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, her two special friends Geraldine Gebo and Gladys Perry, her caregiver Alyceon Horton and her canine companion Brandy. Calling hours will be held on Sunday August 2, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday August 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville, burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to Alzheimer's Assistance Center at Sibley Hall, Plattsburgh State University.
