Elsie M Ciccone

Plattsburgh Mrs. Elsie M. Ciccone, 73, of Boynton Avenue, Plattsburgh, New York passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility with her family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh, New York on August 15, 1936 the daughter of Frank and Priscilla (Belgard) Tomkiewicz. Elsie had worked at Phil's Dry Cleaning and she and her husband owned and operated Chic and Elsie's Corner Store. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #125 Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion Post #20 Ladies Auxiliary where she was Past President, the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and St. John's Church. She helped with the Christmas is for Kids Program. She volunteered her time at the Salvation Army and contributed to various charities and fundraisers. Elsie was predeceased by her parents Frank and Priscilla Tomkiewicz, and a brother Roland Tomkiewicz. She is survived by her husband of forty seven years, George B. "Chic" Ciccone of Plattsburgh, three sons; George "Tiny" Ciccone and his wife Debbie of Plattsburgh, Nicholas A. "Tony" Ciccone and wife Valerie of Beekmantown, Donald Schott of Plattsburgh, a daughter and son in law, Renee and Albert Dapo of Plattsburgh, Karyl Schott of Georgia, three sisters; Marion Aubin of Plattsburgh, Eleanor Garrow and her husband Jack of Plattsburgh, two brothers; Elijah Tomkiewicz and his wife Melanie of Altona, Stanley Tomkiewicz and his wife Bonnie of Peru, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 4 to 7 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm at the Brown Funeral Home chapel. Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Disease Center at Plattsburgh State University.
