Emily Scales

Emily Scales (Young), 79, of Plattsburgh, died peacefully on January 30, 2024 after a short illness. She is the daughter of Ansel Young and Nancy Hayden Young Phillips. Emily was predeceased by her father and mother. She is survived by her brother Hayden Young of Saranac Lake, New York; son Kevin Scales and his wife Ruth Bell of Juneau, Alaska; daughter Jennifer Scales and her husband William Padove of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, granddaughter Lillian Staneruck and grandson Shawn Staneruck. Emily had many jobs over her lifetime - the last working for the Federal Court in Syracuse and Plattsburgh, New York. She retired in 2012. She enjoyed gardening, socializing with her friends at Lake Forest Senior Living, and walking. Visitation will be Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 10:00am-12:00pm. A memorial service will follow at 12:00pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel.
