Ernest A. Piscitello, 89, of Maryland Road, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2023 at his home with his loving family by his side and under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Boonton, NJ on January 29, 1934, the son of the late Placido and Theresa (Marcello) Piscitello.
Ernie graduated from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Elementary School, Boonton Public Schools, and the Rutgers University College of Pharmacy. He was honorably discharged from the US Army following 2 years of service from 1956 to 1958. He was a Registered Pharmacist in NJ, NY and FL. and was employed by Warner Lambert Pharmaceuticals, Ciba Pharmaceuticals and Ayerst Laboratories. He also worked in retail and hospital pharmacy.
Ernie was a Senior member of the United States Ski Patrol System, was a PADI certified scuba diver, and was a Navigator in the United States Power and Sail Squadron. He enjoyed sailing and skiing, writing family histories, photography and computers. He spent winters in Estero, FL. and summers in Plattsburgh, NY since 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Comeau) Piscitello whom he married August 29, 1993, two children; Karen Freck, an educator in Vienna, VA., and E. Scott Piscitello, an engineer in Portland, OR., and 4 grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister; Geralyn Schaffnit, two step children; Christine Kalinowski, Jeffrey Kalinowski and Shirley, plus 4 grandchildren.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country, 358 Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
