Ernest A "Sonny" Parent Jr

Plattsburgh Ernest "Sonny" Parent, Jr., 65, of Route 9 in Plattsburgh, passed away on Tuesday February 8, 2011 with his family by his side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on June 22, 1945, the son of Ernest and Dorothy (Burnell) Parent, Sr. Sonny enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1966, where he served his country during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged from the service he began working for the Port Authority of Elizabeth, New Jersey for twenty years before moving back to Plattsburgh in 1994. He then worked at Mold Rite Plastics in Plattsburgh before retiring in 2007. Sonny enjoyed riding his motorcycle, working outside, spending time with his family and his two dogs, Augie and Fluffy. He was predeceased by a son Anthony C. Parent, a brother James and a sister Rosemary. Sonny is survived by his companion of eighteen years Pearl Provost of Plattsburgh, two sons; Ernest A. Parent, III and his wife Tracey of NJ and Robert Parent and his wife LeeLa of Champlain, a daughter Nicole Terry and her husband Travis of Morrisonville, a step-daughter Charlotte Milton and her husband Thomas of FL, four grandchildren; Robert, Jr., Jason, Tabitha and Maxwell, five brothers; Raymond, Peter, Fred, Mark, Thomas and David, five sisters; Sue, Bertha Deborah, Marianne and Carol, all of Clinton County, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him.
