Ethel M Blake

Ethel M. Blake, 89, of Jersey Swamp Road, Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Friday January 22, 2021 at the Essex Center in Elizabethtown, NY. She was born in Winooski, Vermont on August 29, 1931 the daughter of Eli and Anna (Richards) Gagnon.
Ethel enjoyed BINGO and visiting with her family. She lived with Ross and Lillian Burnell for many years before they passed.
She was predeceased by her husband Simon Blake, Jr. and her daughter Shirley Donnelly, her foster son; Donald “Putt” Burnell , a grandson, Todd Michael LaPorte, and a great grandson; Dale Blake.
Ethel is survived by her children; Ruth (Michael) Relation, Jackie Blake, Jack (Judy) Blake, Stanley (Sharron) Lanoue and Joyce (Kenneth) Franks, her foster children; Ross (Ginger) Burnell, Jr., Wanda (Roger) Cook, Donna (Michael) LaPorte, Rita (Steve) LaPorte, Joe (Linda) Burnell and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive her.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday January 27, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh, a funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will be at the Plattsburgh Community Mausoleum.
Donations in Ethel’s memory may be made to Elizabethtown Community Hospital or The Essex Center.
