Plattsburgh Mrs. Eunice L. "Gram" LaMountain, 89, formerly of Beekman Towers Plattsburgh, New York passed away Monday, September 21, 2009 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side. She was born in Lyon Mountain, New York on January 11, 1920, the daughter of Nelson and Delphine (Sorrell) Lancto. Eunice enjoyed watching bowling on television as well as in person, watching football and baseball and playing bingo. She was a Life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #125 Plattsburgh Ladies Auxiliary, a Life member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #179 Ladies Auxiliary and St. Peter's Church. Eunice was predeceased by her parents, Nelson and Delphine Lancto, her husband, Lynell LaMountain, her son, Jeffrey LaMountain, three sisters and brother-in-law, Irene and Mac Lancto, Vivian Miller, Mag Porter and her son-in-law Fred Culley. She is survived by a daughter Sylvia Culley of Plattsburgh, four grandchildren, Timothy Peets and his wife Bonnie of Saranac, Terry Jubert and her husband Austin of West Chazy, Tina Recor and Steve of Morrisonville, Kimberlyn LaMountain of Colorado, four great grandchildren, Amy, Keri, Tiffany and Dalton; two great great grandchildren, Jordan and Elias, several nieces and nephews. At Eunice's request there will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held Thursday, September, 24, 2009, at 5:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William G. Reamer, Chaplain at CVPH Medical Center officiating. Interment will be at St. Edmund's Cemetery, Ellenburg Depot, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Adirondack Humane Society.
