Eva M Gilman

Altona Eva M. Gilman, 91, of Prospect Avenue, Plattsburgh and formerly of Devils Den Road, Altona, NY passed away on Monday January 3, 2011 at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh. She was born in Mooers, NY on December 2, 1919 the daughter of Oliver and Emma (Gadway) LaFountain. Eva worked at Altona Central School and later at Northern Adirondack Central in the Food Services Department. She was a member of Holy Angels Church in Altona. Eva enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Gilman, a son Roland LaFountain, three brothers; Noah, Earl and Alfred LaFountain, four sisters; Lena LaValley, Irene Puryea, Cecil Rabideau and Lillian Peryer. Eva is survived by one son Robert F. Gilman and his wife Karen of Ellenburg Depot, a daughter in law Beverly LaFountain of Altona, a brother Owen LaFountain and his wife Lucille of Altona, three sisters in law Barbara Gilman Clark of Altona, Dora LaFountain of OR and Doris LaFountain of Plattsburgh, two brothers in law Richard Gilman and Richard Rabideau, 4 grandchildren, Dean, Thomas, Tracey and Dina, and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. At Eva's request their will be no public calling hours, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday January 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Angels Church in Altona, burial will be later in the year in St. Ann's Mooers Forks, NY.
