Evelyn E Davidson

Plattsburgh Evelyn E. Davidson, 82, of Smith Street, passed peacefully into the next life on Monday, May 26, 2008 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her daughter by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh on December 4, 1925, daughter of the late Earl A. and Jennie (Thew) Frederick. Evelyn graduated from PHS in 1945 and from Plattsburgh Business Institute in 1946. Early in her career she worked for Champlain College and WIRY. She worked as a bookkeeper for Concrete Building Supply for over thirty years. She married the love of her life, David in 1966 and was pleasantly surprised with her "Late in life" baby girl two years later. Mom enjoyed ceramics and working in her rock garden. She especially loved her four legged daughter, "Molly" the Boston Terrier. As her health declined, she was blessed with loving friends and caregivers, Monica, Joanne and Gloria who brought friendship and sunshine into Mom's life. Friends and family will always remember Mom's razor sharp wit and great sense of humor. She was always the girl who was in trouble at Church for giggling! I'll always be thankful for Mom's love and strength. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Nancy Davidson of Plattsburgh, a sister, Bernadette Jones of Glenside, Pennsylvania, nephews Jack and David Jones, niece Debra Jones, her dear and lifelong friend, Marjorie LaRose, her devoted nephew, Bernard Lamora and his wife, Anice, special cousins, Lenora and Ethan Purcell, the Frederick and Martin Families, several other nieces, nephews and friends.. Evelyn was pre-deceased by her husband, David Davidson, her sisters, Helene and Pauline Frederick and her brother in law, Jack Jones. Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 28, 2008 from, 2-4 and 7-9 at Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street, Plattsburgh. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel, 29 Broad Street, Plattsburgh, NY with Rev. William Reamer officiating. Burial will follow in Whispering Maples Mausoleum, Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh. In lieu of flowers, donations in Evelyn's memory may be given to Adirondack Humane Society, 134 Idaho Avenue, Plattsburgh, New York 12903.
