Ernest D Burl

December 2, 1951 — March 29, 2024

Ernest (Ernie) D. Burl passed away peacefully at his daughter’s residence in Arlington, Texas on Friday March 29, 2024, after a courageous 4-year battle with Cancer. He was born December 2, 1951, to Ernest Burl Sr. and Shirley Burl (Beckwith), both predeceasing him. Ernie is survived by his daughter; Amy Passino (Dave) of Peru, NY and her sons Jayden Duquette (Emily), and Victor Mclean. Her daughter Exie Duquette and fiancé Tyler Bennett. Laura Reed (Rodney) of Arlington Texas and their children Trey Burl and fiancé Isabella Schaefer, Cobi Reed and fiance’ Zion Buckley Sneed, Ryan Reed, and Amar'e Reed. Family friend; Bobby Goodman. His two great grandsons; Azariah Burl (Azzi) and Tyler Jr. Bennett (TJ). His two sisters; Elaine Pitts (Bruce) and her children Melisa Bushey, Wendy LaJoy (Michael), and Jerry Cadieux; Betty Burl (Greg Blow) and her son James Macey Jr. His Uncle; Bobby Shea and several cousins. During his younger years, he had a passion for motorcycles which quickly led him to Honda where he was a mechanic and Service Manager. There he was able to embrace his love for motorcycles. But Ernie had many passions, including an ear for music. This quickly led him to a career where he spent many years as a Sound Engineer for one of the top sound companies in the USA, Audio Analyst. His profession as a Sound Engineer allowed him to travel and work with many distinguished musicians such as Pat Benatar, Billy Joel, Billy Idol, Heart, Def Leopard, the Monsters of Rock Tour and many more. This ignited his already established passion for music and his bass guitar, leading him to share his talents with the North Country for several decades. He became a well-known local musician and was also recognized for his excellence in providing sound to many local bands. He later returned to Plattco where he retired as a Maintenance Supervisor after 30 years of service. While at Plattco, Ernie devoted many years caring for the feral cat population. In addition, he was an avid golfer, a gifted photographer and had a passion for nature and wildlife, especially eagles. He will be remembered by all for his love of music, nature, and his compassion for others throughout his community. A celebration of life will be held on June 8, 2024. Further details will be provided soon. Any donations may be made to the Adirondack Council Preserving Water, Air and Wildlands as a Gift in Memory. You will be able to dedicate your donation in memory of Ernie and send a message to his family. Ernieslegacy@yahoo.com https://donate.adirondackcouncil.org/memorial
