Florence M Darrah

Plattsburgh Florence M. Darrah, 87, of Mallard Drive, Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Monday June 9, 2014 at her home with her family by her side, under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Black Brook, NY on April 25, 1927 the daughter of Louis and Margaret (Garrow) Chamberlain. Florence grew up in Keeseville, NY, where she was raised by Jack and Jennie McGee. She married Carl Darrah at St. Peter's Church on October 25, 1945 Florence worked at the Altamont for twenty years before becoming a Home Care Provider at Sunmont. She was a member of Our lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh. Florence was interested in old homes and updated her home. She was predeceased by her parents, her siblings; Irene, Mandy, Louis, Robert, Lawrence, Earl, Esther, Roger and John, a daughter Pamela Frederick and her husband Carl Darrah. Florence is survived by two sons; Allen Darrah and his wife Bertha of Plattsburgh and Richard Darrah and his wife Linda of Plattsburgh, nine grandchildren and their spouses; Cindy, Sandy, Allen, Andy, Candy, Elizabeth, Lanie, Davina and Corey, great grandchildren; Alisha, April, Jordan, Ethan, Kylie, Alana, Dawn, Amber, Megan, Andy, Jr., Jason, Landon, Matthew, Danny, Jr., David, Dylan, Kerra, Richard, Brandon, Ronnie, Shayna, Kyler and Carter, two great-great-granddaughters; Aubrey Lynn and Haley, a brother; Carl Chamberlain of Gloversville, NY, several nieces and nephews also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday June 11, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday June 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh, burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Florence's memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
