Florence "Flo" Kaufman

Plattsburgh Florence "Flo" Kaufman, 68, of Boynton Ave., Plattsburgh, NY passed away Friday December 23, 2016 at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, VT. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 15, 1948 the daughter of Sam and Henrietta (Axelrod) Kaufman. Flo began her career in 1973 for the Department of Corrections as a psychologist. In 1980 she went to work for NYS Office of Mental Health, retiring in 2004. Flo enjoyed traveling at will and working and landscaping around her house. She volunteered at the emergency room at CVPH Medical Center. Flo served on the boards of NAPP and Behavioral Health Services. She was a member of Temple Beth Israel in Plattsburgh. Flo was predeceased by her parents Sam and Henrietta Kaufman, a brother Michael Kaufman and a nephew Michael Kaufman. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Duffy and her husband John of Safety Harbor, FL, her brother Fred Kaufman and his wife Lori of Davidson, NC, her nephews; Rick Kaufman and his wife Violetta and Michael Duffy, her nieces; Pam Finch, Erin Duffy and Gayle Kaufman-Bell and her husband Kevin and her canine companion Sweetie Pie. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Temple Beth Israel. Interment will follow at Temple Beth Israel Cemetery.
