Florence Mary Rock

Florence Mary Rock, 96, of Banker Road in Morrisonville, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 at her home with family by her side and under the care of Hospice of the North Country.
She was born in Plattsburgh on November 16, 1924, the daughter of the late Francis and Beatrice (Garrow) Demary, Sr.
Florence attended D’Youville Academy and later was employed for many years at K Mart, Neisner’s, Big N and Merkel’s Department Store. She was a member of St. Alexander’s Church and the American Legion Post 20 Ladies Auxillary. Florence was loved by all who had any contact with her. She was a God fearing woman, a family matriarch for all of her married life. Florence loved to knit, work the puzzle books, and watch as many TV drama shows as possible with NCIS being her favorite.
Florence worked hard all of her life to raise and benefit her five children. Always gracious and smiling, Florence had a way of bringing out the best in people.
She is survived by her children; Linda Primo of Morrisonville, Cathy Caron of Lincolnton, NC., Gary and Lynn Rock of Morrisonville, Mary and Dana Dupell of Morrisonville, Alan and Candy Rock of Altona, 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert J. Rock, whom she married November 16, 1946 at St. Peter’s Church. Her parents, her brothers; Gerald Demary, Frank Demary, Jr., Harry Demary, infant sister Patricia Demary and sister Joyce Gowett also passed away earlier.
Calling hours and services will be held privately for the family. Interment will be held at St. Alexander’s Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
