Floyd Frederick LaValley, 84 of Plattsburgh, died Saturday September 14th, 2024 at the UVM Health Network at CVPH. He was born June 21st, 1940, the son of Fred and Mabel (Rollo) LaValley. Floyd married Joyce (Soden) LaValley February 7th, 1959 who predeceased him on July 13th, 1997. Floyd worked for Coca-Cola for 38 years, retiring in 1998. He remained an active member of Knights of Columbus from the age of 18 and the Plattsburgh Noon Kiwanis Club for 44 years, the club’s longest standing member. Floyd enjoyed playing horseshoes, golfing, traveling, camping, and doing anything to spend time with his family. He was a diehard New York Yankees and New York Giants fan and always ready to bust a move on the dance floor. Floyd is survived by his children Pamela (Tom) Highers, Randy LaValley, Ronald (Amy) LaValley, Julie (Alan) Mitchell. Grandchildren; Kristy (Tim) Raso, Jamie (Graham) Niles, Kaleigh (Jason) Myatt, Bryant (Heather) LaValley, TJ LaValley & Hope Craig, Heather LaValley, Jerika LaValley & Tony Bushey, Kacie LaValley & Kristopher Minogue. Great grandchildren; Aaryanna & Austin Raso, Sydney & Vayda Niles, Jack & Karson Myatt, Sawyer, Liam & Peyton LaValley, Rowan Cayea, Emery Minogue, Millie Bushey and Baby Wyatt Bushey on the way. A special friend Ellen “Nel” Sherman and his canine companion, Max. Calling hours will be held at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Community Mausoleum in Plattsburgh.
