Morrisonville Mr. Floyd Lester Thompson, 89, of Route 22B, Morrisonville, New York passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility with his family by his side. He was born in Lyon Mountain, New York on March 4, 1925 the son of Albert and Mary Ellen (Leigh) Thompson. Floyd was a veteran of WWII serving in the U. S. Army/Air Corps. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, making wooden trains, traveling, including trips to the casino. Floyd retired from Griffith Oil and he mowed lawns for many people in his retirement. He was a member of St. Alexander's Church, Morrisonville. Floyd was predeceased by his parents Albert and Mary Ellen Thompson, his siblings; Alvin "Major" Thompson, Constance "Connie" Kline, Helen Gonyea, and a half brother, Arthur Lancto. He is survived by his wife of sixty three years Lillian L. (Poulin) Thompson of Morrisonville, two sons; Leigh Thompson and his wife Joyce of Hanover Township, PA, and their children Robert and Michael, Robin Thompson of Plattsburgh, and his son Bryant, his daughters; Sheila Blankenbush and her husband Kenneth of Black River, New York and their children Kenneth, Jr. and Lynn, Gail Recore and her husband Jay of Plattsburgh, and their children Jason and Justin, one sister Marilyn Bowman of Minnesota, eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Friday, November 21, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
