Francis E. Bushey, 96, of the Miner Farm Road, Chazy passed away Monday, May 25, 2020 at Meadowbrook with his loving family by his side. He was born in Peru, New York on October 15, 1923 the son of Joseph and Sephronia (Duprey) Bushey. Francis was a WWII veteran serving in the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers in Burma building air strips. He married Helen Tetrault on October 12, 1949.
Over the years, Francis mined titanium in Tahawas, operated his wife’s family farm in Peru and worked construction as a member of the Local 186 Laborers Union. He was involved with the additions to CVPH, the Clinton County Government Center, construction of the new Chazy Central Rural School and later the demolition of the old school. Francis later worked at the William H. Miner Institute until his retirement in 1987. Francis enjoyed vegetable gardening, cutting firewood and spending time at the Senior Center. He enjoyed his North Country Honor Flight.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife of fifty eight years, Helen, his siblings and their spouses Felix (Rebecca) Bushey, Wilfred (Doris) Bushey, Emma (Fred) Blair, Dorothy Lamora, Myron Ducharm, grandsons Benjamin Gregware, Lucas LaDue and a son-in-law Brian LaDue.
Francis is survived by two daughters; Wanda Ducharme, Yvonne LaDue and her companion Paul Seguin; four sons; Fran (Mary) Bushey, Kevin Bushey, Keith (Jen) Bushey, Dwight “Ike” (Jenny) Bushey, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Chazy.
