Plattsburgh Francis F. Dupra, 78, of Quality Drive, Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Keeseville, NY on August 1, 1932 the son of Albert and Marie (Jarvis) Dupra. Francis served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. In 1962, he went to work for Augsbury Terminals in Plattsburgh as a truck driver, retiring in 1988. Francis was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1466 in Beekmantown, NY, the Peru Rod and Gun Club and the Teamsters Local # 648 in Plattsburgh. He is predeceased by his parents, his wife of 25 years Shirley Dupra Benware, a companion Jean Armes, an infant son Todd Dupra, a brother Robert "Bob" Dupra, a brother-in-law Al Maloney and a sister in-law Anne Dupra. Francis is survived by five children; Cheryl Dupra and her partner Margie Doneilo of MA, Sharlene Petro-Durgan and her husband Harry Durgan of Plattsburgh, Lieutenant Colonel Michael Dupra and his wife Brenda of FL, Patrick Dupra and his wife Debbie of Plattsburgh and Todd Bashaw of Altona, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, his second wife of 14 years Bert Whelden of Plattsburgh and several step children. A sister Marge Holdrige and her husband Larry of MD, a brother Harold Dupra of Plattsburgh, a sister-in-law Corky Dupra of Plattsburgh, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Saturday March 12, 2011 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will be at Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Francis's memory may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center at CVPH Medical Center.
