Francis J Young

Francis J. Young, 86, of Route 22B, Morrisonville, NY passed away on Thursday March 22, 2012 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Churubusco, NY on October 10, 1925 the son of John and Ida (Nichols) Young. Francis enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his country during World War II. He later worked as a welder and pipe fitter at Packaging Corp. of America in Plattsburgh, retiring in 1990 after 45 and a half years. Francis was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time with his family and his beagles. He was a member of the American Legion Post 20 in Plattsburgh and St. Alexander's Church. He was predeceased by his parents, a son-in-law Donald Charitier, a brother Andrew Young, four sisters; Della Cote, Dora Rubado, Claria Lambert and Georgine Metras and an infant brother. Francis is survived by his wife Rosalind (Burl) Young of Morrisonville, they were married at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy on February 12, 1982. Four children; Rev. Ruth Charitier of Royersford, PA, Judy Young of Merrill, NY, Dwayne Young and his wife Anne Marie of Watertown, NY and Gerald Young and his wife Crystal of Zephyr Hills, FL, nine grandchildren; Angella Furina, Brandy Young, Jon Young, Shelby Young, Jeremy Young, Gerald Young, Jr., Michele Young, Matthew Lafountain and Derek Fagan, six great grandchildren, a brother John Young and his wife Florence of CA, several sisiters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Monday March 26, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday March 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy, burial will be held on May 1, 2012 in the parish cemetery.
