FRANK J. BULLIS Port Kent - Frank J. Bullis, 84, of Port Kent, N.Y. died peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh in the presence of his loving family. One of the remaining original 'Port Kenters', Frank was born in Port Kent at the Bullis family's Pine Grove Hotel on May 29, 1927 to Frank and Jenny (Curot) Bullis. He lived his entire life in his beloved Port Kent, except for his time spent in the war effort at the American Locomotive Works in Schenectady, N.Y. and serving in the U.S. Army following his attendance at Keeseville High School. Frank worked 15 years at the Prescott & Sons Woodworking Factory in Keeseville, N.Y. until its closure. Subsequently he worked 26 years as the custodian for the Plattsburgh Air Force Base Youth Center until his retirement in 1991when he was honored with the Base Employee of the Year award for 26 years of dedicated and faithful service. Always a hard worker devoted to providing for his family, Frank also worked weekends on Table Rock at Ausable Chasm for many years in addition to all his other activities where he enjoyed serving the public, including Canadian visitors because of his French Canadian heritage on his mother's side of the family. Frank is survived by his wife of 66 years, Delphine 'Dee' (Ryer) of the family home and his children, David, Steven and Lynn. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Damon and Danica Bullis, Jonathan and Emily Cmaylo, and Erin and Dave Kaatz as well as great grandchildren, Owen, Wyatt and Molly Kaatz and Nina Cmaylo.
