Frieda P Martino

Mrs. Frieda P. Martino, 91, of Plattsburgh, NY passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh, NY. She was born in Ray Brook, NY on March 14, 1924 the daughter of Edward and Clarabell (Tromblee) Besaw. She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Plattsburgh, NY and worked and taught nursery school at the Nazarene Church. She loved to make ceramics and paint what she made. She enjoyed music and sang in the church choir. In 1966 her son Edward, Jr., passed away in the Vietnam War, she then became a very active member of the Gold Star Mothers and was the last member in the county. Frieda's greatest love was to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Edward, Sr., in 1973 and her son Edward, Jr., grandson David Martino and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children; Donald Martino of Plattsburgh, NY, Donna Sly of Marysville, WA, and Lettie Liberty of Plattsburgh, NY, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel.
