Gary L Marbut

Gary L. Marbut, 61, of Peasleeville Road, Peaseleeville, NY passed away Friday December 30, 2011 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on June 14, 1950 the son of Ralph and Margaret (LaFountain) Marbut, Sr. Gary served in the United States Marine Corps. from 1968 to 1970. He then worked for General Electric and later at Imperial Wall Covering in Plattsburgh in the Roller Room. Gary enjoyed hunting and his dogs. Gary is survived by his wife Marguerite "Maggie" Marbut, two sons; Robert Marbut and his companion Marla Hemingway of Plattsburgh and Dan Marbut of Peaseleeville, NY, three grandchildren; Brooke Marbut, Hunter Marbut and Briana Marbut, eight siblings, Ralph E. Marbut Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Plattsburgh, Paul Marbut and his wife, Carole of Plattsburgh, Robert Marbut and his wife, Gina of Plattsburgh, Ronald Marbut of Plattsburgh, Mary Cappello and her husband, Joseph of West Chazy, James Marbut and his companion, Eileen Rabideau of Mooers, Carol Dumas and her husband, Gary of Schuyler Falls, Joan Chmiel and her husband, Michael of Peru, two aunts; Dorothy "Dot" Snyder and Rose Baker and numerous nieces and nephews. Gary was pre-deceased by his parents, a nephew Philip Wattie and a sister in law Sandy Marbut. At Gary's request their will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Church in Peru, NY on Monday January 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Augustine's Cemetery in Peru.
