Plattsburgh Gary E. Provost, Sr., 63, of Military Turnpike, Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Wednesday October 29, 2014 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on November 18, 1950 the son of Edmund Willard and Edna (Ducette) Provost. Gary enlisted in the United States Navy in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1970. He married Wendy McSweeney on January 16, 1971 at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Gary worked at Imperial Wall Covering in Plattsburgh, General Dynamic in CT. He came back to Plattsburgh and began working as an Engineer at the Heating Plant at SUNY Plattsburgh, retiring after 2006. Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, spending time with his family and chauffeuring his wife on car rides through New York, Connecticut and Vermont. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Edmund Provost, Jr., his in-laws; Isola and Floyd McSweeney, three brothers-in-laws; Donald Burdo, Bud Rachliss and Peter Alexander, two sisters-in-law Joyce Normandin and Theresa Trombley Gary is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Wendy Provost, two children; Gary Provost, Jr. and his wife Rebecca of Newport, VT and Lori Martioski and her husband John of Plattsburgh, four grandchildren; Zachary and Ohnna-Leigh Provost, Kierra and Sydney Agnew. He is also survived by his son, Chad Wallace and his wife Christie and grandchildren Amber and Tristen Wallace, his siblings; Joan Burdo, Debbie and Vernon McKee, Neal and Debra Provost, Sr. all of Plattsburgh, his in-laws; Ethel and Richard Barkley, Charles and Barbara Normandin, Edith Rachliss, James and Lisa Normandin, Philip and Marga Normandin, Bernadette Alexander, Alice and Roger Senecal, Barbara Normand, Claude and Sandy Normandin, many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him, including his special nephews James Normandin, III and Neal Provost, Jr. Calling hours will be held on Sunday November 2, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday November 3, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh, burial will follow in the parish cemetery with full military honors.
